U-M Emergency Alert 9/18/25

FINAL UPDATE: 10:52 p.m. Area canvassed. Investigation ongoing. Stay alert.

Update #4: 10:21 p.m. Alleged suspect Lagarien Thomas, 33, not found. Police in area. Remain alert.

Update #3: 8:33 p.m. Continue to avoid the location near Zina Pitcher and Catherine. DPSS is clearing the surrounding area.

Update #2: 7:36 p.m. Photo of suspect has been released. It may be found on DPSS X and Facebook accounts. Police asking for community to be alert and call 911 you see the individual.

Update #1: 7:11 p.m. Stabbing suspect: Heavyset Black male in white shirt, tie, jeans. Call 911 if seen.

UM-Ann Arbor E-Alert: 6:21 p.m. Stabbing occurred Catherine/Zina Pitcher. Avoid Area. Updates: dpss.umich.edu.
