On behalf of the University of Michigan's Division of Public Safety and Security (DPSS), welcome to our website.
We are committed to making our campus safe and secure by going above beyond to provide excellent service to our diverse and vibrant University of Michigan community.
The goal of this website is to provide practical and relevant information and services that can help you prevent and better respond in the event of an emergency or a crime.
U-M Ann Arbor is a world-class public research university with 19 schools and colleges, is home to one of the largest health care complexes in the world and has a rich and storied athletics tradition with 31 NCAA Division I teams.
Ensuring safety and security for our community of students, faculty, staff, patients and visitors requires partnership, because together we can keep campus safe and secure. Community outreach and partnership are essential to support the university's mission to develop leaders and citizens who will challenge the present and enrich the future.
On our website, community members can sign up for emergency alerts, report a crime or concern, register personal property, learn how to stay safe in a variety of situations and much more.
The website also provides an opportunity to create meaningful two-way communication through our compliments or complaints form that will enable our division to better fulfill its mission.
In order to make our campus as safe as possible, we invite you to learn about your role in protecting yourself and your property. To that end, we hope you will review this website and familiarize yourself and others with the safety programs and services provided by DPSS.
Let us work together to make the University of Michigan a safe place to live, learn, work and heal.
In service,
Eddie L. Washington, Jr.
