About Drills & Exercises

The DPSS Emergency Preparedness Department works with U-M schools, colleges, and departments to create customized safety procedures based on specific hazards or building requirements. They also help coordinate campus-wide preparedness activities when large-scale planning is required.

Previous scenarios have addressed what to do in the event of:

  • Severe weather
  • Loss of a facility
  • Fire
  • Active violence incident
  • Power outage
  • DPSS employees and their partners engaged in an emergency drill in a conference room.
