ITS Safe Computing Resources

We recommend that all students, faculty and staff visit Safe Computing, an online resource created and maintained by U-M Information Assurance that can help you keep your data, systems, accounts and identity safe when using the internet. For your convenience, we’ve included several helpful links below:

  • Report an IT Security Incident: Report actual or suspected IT security incidents as soon as possible so that work can begin to investigate and resolve them.
  • In the News: Links to the latest news about IT security threats and recommendations.
  • Phishing Alerts: Malicious emails as reported by members of the U-M community. Check here to see if a suspicious email has been reported as phishing.
  • Security Alerts: Alerts about software and system vulnerabilities and scams with potential U-M impact.
  • Be Aware: One of the best ways to stay protected online is to be aware of the dangers. Learn more about identity theft, suspicious emails, privacy, scams, viruses, and compromised accounts.
  • Protect Yourself: Take active steps to secure your devices, manage your passwords, encrypt your data and travel safely with your technology.
  • Protect the U: Learn how to manage your workstation; protect your unit’s, department’s or school’s IT; and safely use sensitive data.
