U-M releases first unified Annual Security and Fire Safety Report

The University of Michigan’s 2026 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report (ASFSR) was released on September 30. Produced by the Division of Public Safety and Security (DPSS), this is the university’s first combined report covering the Ann Arbor, Dearborn, and Flint campuses.

The report provides one clear, comprehensive resource for understanding campus safety while distinguishing the crime statistics, fire safety data, policies, procedures, and resources associated with each campus. It includes data for 2023–2025 and reflects U-M’s commitment to Clery Act compliance, transparency, and consistent university-wide communication. Notably, this is the first year the Clery Act requires reporting hazing data in compliance with the Stop Campus Hazing Act.

Despite the size and complexity of its three campuses, U-M maintains a safe environment for our community members to live, learn, work, and thrive. Everyone can help support a safe and prepared community:
